Initial Expectations: This has been a pretty highly thought of virtual sex series. I’m going in with fairly decent expectations.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting advanced virtual sex (this one’s a bit old and not nearly advanced as many recent releases) or nastier virtual sex
Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear, nicely balanced, and free of background noises. The video is nicely done and well lit. There’s a hint of pixelation, but that’s it for video problems.
Music: There’s a little music during the tease and stories, but that’s it.
Disc Complaints: You’re subjected to a commercial for Digital Playground that you can’t skip past or even scan through. This always ticks me off, and is something I hoped Digital Playground had left in the dust.
Menus: The menus have kept with the usual format for this series. The main menu features Jill standing and waiting while you make your choice on the menu below to start with. The sex selection menu then works itself around the edges of the screen with icons so large that Stevie Wonder could probably see them.
The Feature
Long before she started one of the most recognizable “couples movie” studios out there, Jill Kelly was known for putting out some of the hottest, and for the time nastiest, scenes around. She has implanted tits that borderline on being oversized, golden hair, and tan lines that accentuate some of her best features. Here, you get to “have sex with” Jill in the usual Digital Playground location of a jet black void, and can choose between two true multiple angles. For the foreplay you get a close-up while the sex segments let you have a side view.
Jill starts things out with a tease lasting about three minutes. She puts her mouth to good use as she strips down, and narrates the entire thing complete with plenty of the trash talking she was well known for in her scenes. As she strips, the camera walks up and down her body to capture as much of it as it possibly can.
You can also have Jill tell a few stories for a couple minutes. Jill strips down and dances around in front of a screen of fire while the stories are dubbed in. She talks about her first sexual experience, which just happened to be with her best female friend. She also talks about her wildest sex experience, her perfect erotic experience, and how she likes guys to get off. It’s a nice section for fans, and adds a bit to the experience.
Sexually, you can finger Jill, fuck her with a dildo, or “eat her” (which I find laughable as Jill just diddles herself while jerking around a little). You can also have her suck your cock or fuck her in missionary, doggie, cowgirl, or reverse cowgirl. For her part, Jill does an okay job. She looks great, and does a great job of talking her way through it all. Unfortunately, that’s also her biggest weakness through the movie. There are two moods, and often after the first five seconds I had no clue which mood I was watching. She swears a little more in the nasty mode than the innocent mode, but that’s about the only way to tell. There were many time when there was no difference in her intensity or her body language to go along with it. Most of these problems are during the foreplay section, but they are also there a little during the sex portion.
From the time virtual sex releases started, a lot of attention was given to the pop shots by viewers. Almost all of the pop shots are faked here, but not faked too badly, and they’re shared between the innocent and nasty moods. They’re the wet fake pops rather than the animated pops, so Jill has a little something to play with when “you” pop on her stomach or ass. The only pop shot that’s real is for the blowjob, where Jill takes a nice facial. The pop shots aren’t all real, but they do look pretty close.
Digital Playground’s virtual interface is pretty good, but very big. On the plus side, it’s fairly easy to tell what’s what. On the left side of the screen there’s pictures for each sex act, while the right side of the screen lets you choose between oral, orgasm, move between sex and foreplay, and toggle between innocent and nasty. The selections take effect quickly There are a few problems, however. First, the choices are freaking huge! Almost all of them seem like they could be reduced to half the size and still work very well. The sex selections also aren’t the easiest to make out. Looking through them if I would want Jill to ride me cowgirl style, I’m really not sure which icon I’d pick. Finally, the orgasm mechanism doesn’t go back to the original selection. Once you decide that one of you should have an orgasm, you’re going to keep watching it until you tell it to do something else. This is the only time I think a virtual release should do something without being told.
There’s also the looping, which was a very common problem with early virtual sex releases. The main sex act loops normally lasts around two minutes, although some are as short as a minute and a half, while the orgasm sequences last between about twenty second and a minute. Each segment always returns to the start of the segment, so Jill often goes from being way into the sex act to just getting warmed up. This is a problem that’s been solved in most virtual releases, but it gives the segments a bit of an odd feel if you just want to watch Jill in a specific position. Digital Playground’s virtual mechanism is pretty well done, but a little tweaking would be a good thing.
Virtual Sex with Jill Kelly is an okay release. It has many of the common problems with early virtual sex releases, such as loops that return to the start for each sequence and pop shots that aren’t all real. It also has some nice things, such as true multiple angles and an easy to use virtual mechanism. Jill also turns in a fairly average performance. She varies how she talks for the moods, but never her body language to go with it. Virtual Sex with Jill Kelly is an okay virtual release, but nothing overly special.
